Nigerian Celebrities Visit to Troops in the North-East (2020)

the brief

The Armed Forces of Nigeria were intentional on improving civil-military relationship and went ahead to seek alliances with professionals in the media and entertainment space that could enable Nigerians to access authentic information about the organization’s day-to-day activities . This move was intended to improve civil-military relationship, ignite patriotism and boost the morale of the troops.

the solution

Initially, we were only mandated to market the event to prospective sponsors, we however decided to create an experience that stimulated the creative sessions between 360° Entertainment and our client.
The twist was rather unusual. Our contributions during one of such sessions saw us introduce the need to create a brand identity for the event. We were co-opted into the DHQ’s Central Planning Committee—a task the 360° creative team would never shy away from.

The first point of call would be to invite social influencers and celebrities into the military space to enable them to have critical understanding and first hand experiences of the organization’s selfless service and sacrifice. We also ensured celebrities that are considered social activists like Vector, Daddy Showkey, Seyi Law, IK Osakidowa, Teni, Rita Daniels, PR expert - Alex Reports and others paid a surprise visit to the troops in the North-East in show of support.

The Result / Impact

This was the first time ever, Nigerian celebrities had such a close shot at the activities of the Armed Forces. They conveyed the message of love, support and appreciation from Nigerians to the troops.
The officers, men and women at the frontiers were also thrilled and motivated by this singular act. This also changed the perception of the celebrities about their armed forces as they got first-hand- on-the-field insight into what dedication to service looked and felt like.
